I saw a card on Pinterest the other day that used embossed vellum. It was so pretty, and such a great idea – but I can’t find it now to give credit. Here’s my take on the idea.
I used the Daydream Medallions set from the current Stampin’ Up! annual catalog with the Floral Frames framelits for the Sizzix Big Shot. I stamped the images on vellum, then embossed with white embossing powder, before cutting the images out with the framelits. I also brayed Pink Pirouette on the back of the medallions to add a bit of color. The “Happy Birthday” stamp is from the set “From My Heart,” and I used the Bitty Banners framelits to cut that out. I love the vintage faceted designer buttons when you want to “dress up” a card, but not overdo it. The Delicate Designs embossing folder and a little Regal Rose taffeta ribbon finished it off.
I showed this to Mom today, and she loved it. (And, trust me, she’s very honest if she doesn’t like a card!) I had a feeling she’d like this one. She’s “Clean and Simple” while I’m “Vintage.” (Don’t tell her, but I made a card very like this for her. I used the Lacy Brocade embossing folder at the top of Mom’s card with the Delicate Designs at the bottom, then added a little Whisper White organza ribbon as well as the Regal Rose.)
Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day.
