…and boy, do I feel silly! The “mystery musical swap” from yesterday has been identified. It wasn’t a Stampin’ Up!® convention swap; it was a card from my good friend Darrah Hopper. Most of us don’t write in cards we give away. We just give them, maybe with a note on a “post-it” inside. So Darrah gave the card with her convention gift – the cute “Sock Bear” here. I should have known; I love Darrah’s creations, and her blog is so much fun. You can follow her on Facebook. Next year, I’ll be sure to keep gift cards and swaps separate!
Here’s a “polka dot” creation for you. I was making a bookmark for Rachel and decided to make a card to go with it. I wanted it to be bright and colorful, so I used Island Indigo and Melon Mambo.
I used a sponge dauber to add the polka dots over Floral District designer series paper. (I painted a thin layer of Gesso over the designer paper first.) Then I embossed the front of the card with the Perfect Polka Dots textured impressions embossing folder (from Sizzix for Stampin’ Up!®) and die cut three flowers from Fun Flowers die (also from Sizzix). I stamped images from the Stampin’ Up!® Holiday catalog hostess set Mixed Medley, and added them to the flower. The cute little 1-1/4″ scallop circle punch is also available in the Holiday catalog. I love the way the stamped scallop, the embossing and the ribbon also pull in the polka dots.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day – and may all your mysteries be solved as easily as mine!
