I was playing with some different techniques this weekend. I bought the new Silicone Craft Sheet from the Stampin’ Up!® Holiday mini catalog, and wanted to try some things with it. I dripped some Raspberry Ripple and Midnight Muse refills on the sheet, spritzed it with water so the ink would run, then smashed a piece of Whisper White card stock into the refill/water mix. It turned out really nicely, I think. And the craft sheet cleaned up quite well. I just rinsed it off with some water and let it dry.
I stamped a few butterflies with the Illuminate Glimmer pad (also in the Holiday mini)
and a few with Versamark so I could emboss them with pewter powder, then punched them with the new elegant butterfly punch. I colored the images on a strip of Natural Composition Specialty paper, then layered the butterflies and a die-cut sentiment (Nature’s Pace stamp set and Bitty Banners framelits) to the paper. I used the Adorning Accents edgelits with Midnight Muse to create a border, and embossed the Rich Razzleberry card with the Fancy Fan embossing folder. The whole process probably took longer to post here than to actually create! It was a very quick card, even though it had a lot of steps and techniques.
When I was coloring the specialty designer series paper, I found that the images color better if you use an aqua painter and ink first, then go over it with a marker. I used Perfect Plum, Rich Razzleberry, Raspberry Ripple and Garden Green.
Have a wonderful day! Thanks for stopping by.
