I wasn’t really thrilled with the Reason To Smile card I posted yesterday. Then my brilliant friend, Linda Wicks, suggested turning it. Ha! Perfect. I like it a lot better this way. (Yes, the sentiment is crooked. I even used a stamp-a-ma-jig. Go figure. And the one I stamped and punched to layer over it was worse, so I gave up. Now people will know it’s handmade.) My other brilliant and funny friend, Mary Fife (who hooked me up with some fabulous recipes and saved Mother’s Day last year) gave me another suggestion, but I didn’t take it this time. One day, I’ll surprise everyone with her idea.
Today I also CASEd the swap from Susan Horr. I didn’t want to copy her card exactly (well, I did, but I don’t have the stamp set), so I took the idea and came up with this.
Stamps: Day of Gratitude, Mixed Bunch, Fabulous Phrases; Ink: More Mustard, Gumball Green, So Saffron classic; Paper: Vellum, So Saffron, Lucky Limeade card stock; Other: Blossom punch, word window punch, modern label punch, Floral Frames framelits, In Color dahlias, stampin’ dimensionals, mini glue dots
The Floral Frame doesn’t exactly match the medallion in the Day of Gratitude set, but it’s close. And the frames and stamp work really well with the Mixed Bunch set, too.
I got a Stampin’ Up! order today, and my new stampin’ scrub was in there. It’s amazing! It’s extra large, and the hinges are metal. Wooohooo! Maybe this means I won’t keep mixing and matching the cases with broken, plastic hinges. My stampers will be thrilled. If you don’t have a stampin’ scrub or if you have an older one, try this one. I think you’ll really like it.
Have a wonderful day, and thanks for stopping by.
The card needs tassels!
