Friends Don’t Let Friends Retire without Them!

Wow, this has been a crazy weekend!  Winchester holds an Apple Blossom Festival every year, and it’s a big deal to tourism – even though there are no apple orchards in Winchester as far as I know.  There are lots in Frederick County, but Winchester?  No.  So we had that to hide from, as our small town swells to about 10 times its size.  And for the first year since he was born, I’ll be gone on Wesley’s birthday – and Wesley won’t be with me.  (Sad!!)  He’s fine with it; he’s 20, after all, and will have a wonderful day even without his mom.  (again, sad!)  We celebrated with family last night, so yesterday was busy cleaning up a little, shopping and cooking.  I think he had a good time.

We opened the pool today, so I’m kind of expecting him to have friends over on his actual birthday for a swim.  I think he has to work, and they’re having a pizza party at the store that day.  It’s not really for his birthday, but, hey – any excuse to celebrate!

I’ve been trying to use my retiring items a few more times before they’re gone.  Here’s one I made today.

Stamps:  Oval All; Ink:  Concord Crush classic; Daffodil Delight classic ink refill; Paper:  Blushing Bride, Concord Crush card stock; Cheerful Treat designer series paper; Other:  Blossom punch, Boho Blossoms punch, large oval punch, eyelet border punch, crimper, Dazzling Details, sponge, In Color glimmer brads, paper piercing tool, mat pack, aqua painter, stampin’ dimensionals

I crimped the punched blossoms (a carry over item!) several times, then separated the card stock to form 4 flowers.   Then I sponged them and layered them with the Boho Blossoms.  It actually looks like a silk flower in person.

I’m going to miss Oval All, as well as the eyelet border punch.  I’m keeping my fingers crossed that there will be an eyelet edgelit in the new catalog, though.

My laptop is still fritzed out.  We ordered a fan, and I hope that will fix it.  I’m feeling severely handicapped here, having to depend on my tablet and Mike’s computer.  On the other hand, I’m learning a lot about my tablet!

Have a great day – and thanks for stopping by!

I got the idea for this from my friend Marsha Reed.  This is a really quick and easy card!
