It’s hard to think up catchy titles for blog posts – especially after midnight! I’ve always had a problem writing titles, even in elementary school. Since this card uses the Simply Soft and Kindness Matters sets, “Simply Kindness” seemed to fit. And that made me think how really simple it is to be kind, so why does it seem like some days there’s so little of it? It’s so easy to hurt people with out words and deeds, but being kind is just as simple. I try to choose kindness (most of the time, anyway!). It’s amazing what a kind word or a smile will do to cheer someone up.
Speaking of kindness, my friend Linda swapped me this awesome hostess set (Simply Soft) for one of the sets I had that I rarely used. She’s the best!
Stamps: Kindness Matters, Simply Soft*; Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Marina Mist, Old Olive, Tangerine Tango, More Mustard classic; Jet Black Stazon; Paper: Tangerine Tango, Marina Mist, Very Vanilla card stock; First Edition designer series paper; Other: Brights buttons, antique brads, Old Olive satin ribbon, large oval & decorative label punches (*all products are available in the Stampin’ Up!® Idea Book & Catalog; Pear Pizzazz and the Simply Soft hostess stamp set are two of the items that are retiring, so place your order or schedule a workshop today!)
This is just a plain and simple card. The little butterfly and some of the flowers at the bottom are designs on the First Edition paper. The other flowers and butterflies are stamped and colored. And I love putting things on top of buttons so I don’t have to thread them! This is a bright button with an antique brad poked through it and attached with a mini glue dot (or three). You can also use pearls or rhinestones, or thread, of course. I also have used skinny strips of paper for “faux thread” when I didn’t have the color thread I needed.
I think I’m babbling, and it’s late, so I’m heading to bed. Have a wonderful day, and thanks for stopping by!
Far prettier than anything I ever made with it! I have a card I made with your Friends Never Fade that I’ll be posting tomorrow… something surprisingly bright!
