Our dog has a new game that he plays just for Mike. Even though he sleeps in Jon’s bedroom, Hoss always wakes Mike up if he has to go out in the middle of the night. He scratches on our door, and Mike gets up and takes him out. We’re not sure why he doesn’t wake up Jon, who is right there, except that he’s very protective of the boys, so maybe he doesn’t want to disturb their sleep.
Lately, Hoss has been giving the “I have to go out” signal, and Mike gets up, walks down the hall to go let the dog out the back door – only to realize that Hoss has gone back to bed. What’s up with that?
Mike taught Spinning® classes (indoor cycling) in the early morning for years, so he had to get up around 4:15 a.m. He and Hoss would have breakfast together, and then Mike would go to the gym and Hoss would go back to bed. Now that he’s not teaching classes, Mike can sleep in until 6:30 or 7, so we think that Hoss thinks Mike has overslept and he’s doing him a favor by being a furry alarm clock. Everyone in the family thinks it’s really cute and funny. Except for Mike, of course. He’s a really good sport, though, and he does fall back to sleep pretty easily.
So here’s a card for Mike from Hoss. I love 3″x3″ cards, because they’re quick and fun and you can use them as little love notes. This one will say, “Thanks for not being mad that I woke you up again.”
Stamp sets: Teeny Tiny Wishes, Four Frames; Ink: Basic Black; Paper: Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla card stock; Mocha Morning specialty designer series paper; Other: Cherry Cobbler seam binding ribbon, basic jewels – rhinestones, decorative label punch; stampin’ dimensionals; permanent marker (all products available in the 2011-12 Stampin’ Up!® Idea Book & Catalog)
I love the Mocha Morning designer series paper. It’s so rich. This design is like velvet, because it’s flocked. And with a name like “Mocha Morning,” it reminds me of coffee.
I punched the Basic Black decorative label two times and cut the sides off one and the top and bottom off the other. Then I put them back together to form a larger tag so it could mat the tag with the sentiment. And don’t you love those Cherry Cobbler jewels? They’re just basic rhinestones that I colored with markers.
That’s it for now. I’m going to feed the big dog, so maybe he’ll sleep all night. Have a great day – and thanks for stopping by.
