The other day started out looking like it was going to be crazy. First I had a flat tire, so trying to figure out how to get everyone where they were supposed to be with one less vehicle was a little challenging. It looked like I was going to be at school from 10-4, but my last two afternoon appointments got canceled. So – I headed off to the Dollar Store, and, boy, did I get some great “finds!”
I had just gotten a catalog that had these really cute totes on the cover. I thought they’d be fun to decorate in a class, but I didn’t want to buy 100 to get the good price. Since most of the
junk stuff in that catalog is also in the Dollar Store, I decided to check it out. I don’t think they’re as large, but they did, indeed, have the cute totes, and they were only 2/$1. There was also an adorable composition book – which I plan to alter, so it will be even more adorable, and some craft foam. And here’s how I spend the afternoon –
Supplies: Big Shot, Fun Flowers & Beautiful Butterflies dies, Little Leaves sizzlit, adhesive sheets, basic jewels – rhinestones (Available in the 2011-12 Stampin’ Up!® Idea Book & Catalog); tote, craft foam
This is kind of what it looks like here in Northern Virginia. Everything is blooming and the weather is gorgeous. I’m praying, though, that the fruit trees don’t bud too soon just in case it turns cold again.
This bag was so simple. I die cut flowers, butterflies and leaves from the foam and then just touched them to the adhesive sheet to transfer the adhesive. The hardest part was deciding which center to put with which flower and where to stick them. Oh, and the little pieces wanted to stick to me, even without adhesive.
The easiest way to use the adhesive is to adhere whatever you’re cutting (in this case, foam) to the adhesive, then cut the foam and adhesive at the same time. Then simply peel the backing from the adhesive and you have a foam sticker! But I wasn’t sure what I was going to do exactly, so I didn’t plan that far ahead.
Have a wonderful day! Thanks for stopping by.
