Birthday Tulips

Today was a really fun day!  I didn’t set my alarm, so I didn’t wake up until I was ready.  Nice!!  What a luxury that was. Then I got to talk with Mom for a long time.  Usually one or the other of us is running somewhere, so it was fun to just chat.  (Well, I think I chatted more than she did.  Next time I call, I’ll let her do all the talking.)  Then Mike & I went to an adoption party for a little boy some friends of ours adopted.  What a cutie he is!  He’s all boy and very active – my favorite kind!  We got to catch up with a lot of old friends.

On the way to their house, Mike & I stopped to pick up a newspaper, and in the coupon section there was a recipe for Italian sausage pasta.  The picture looked so good, so I decided that was going to be dinner.  It was a hit for all the hungry kids – and two hungry parents!

About a week or so ago, we noticed that Hoss was having some issues that looked like a reaction to wheat.  Since we make all his food and it’s wheat free, we were a little puzzled – until Mike checked the ingredients on Hoss’s dog treats.  Every single one had wheat.  Rachel bought a doggie treat cookbook, so she and Jon made some treats for the dogs tonight.  The pups waited as patiently as they could for them to get done – right outside the kitchen door.  Toby had been sleeping, so the camera flash caused him to squint a little in the photo.

They loved their treats, which were kind of cheese twists made from rice flour.  Yum!

The party today was kind of a combination adoption/birthday party, so here’s a card I made for my friend An.

Stamps:  Teeny Tiny Wishes, Bright Blossoms; Ink:  Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry; Paper:  Summer Smooches designer series paper; Lucky Limeade, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White card stock; Other:  Summer Smooches fabric designer brads; punches – 3/4″ circle, 5-petal flower, blossom, large oval, scallop oval, dotted scallop ribbon border; paper piercing tool, mat pack, stampin’ dimensionals

This was fun – and very different from what I usually make.  I love the bright colors in the paper.  It was nice to step out of my comfort zone for awhile.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful day.
