Whenever I have a class or a workshop, there are always some scraps leftover. It’s always a fun challenge to use them somehow. From Saturday’s workshop, I had some extra designer series paper cut, and I had a Real Red card from another workshop before Christmas. There was some ribbon from Wednesday’s technique class, and a stray square of Very Vanilla card stock from…well, I don’t know where that was from.
I decided to see what I could do with the odds and ends, and it was really fun! Here’s my card.
Stamps: Elementary Elegance; Ink: Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, Peach Parfait classic; Real Red, Peach Parfait, Daffodil Delight stampin’ write markers; Paper: Attic Boutique designer series paper; Real Red, Very Vanilla card stock; Brights designer series paper pack; Other: Daffodil Delight taffeta ribbon, square fire brads, curly label punch, sponge, Beautiful Wings embosslit, dotted scallop ribbon border punch, scallop trim border punch, mini glue dots, stampin’ dimensionals
I added a few stamped butterflies to the designer paper using the “rock & roll” technique. I inked the butterfly with Daffodil Delight, then rocked the edges in Peach Parfait. The paper was a little smaller than I wanted, so I added the punched borders to the bottom to fill up the card a little more. The frame stamp was inked with markers, but the red one kind of took over, so it’s hard to tell that I used three different markers. The stamp set was free, by the way. It’s one of the exclusive Sale-a-bration sets this year.
With the ribbon, I made a bow, then added a square brad to the center. The only “extras” that I used were a couple small pieces of designer paper. The rest was all scraps. I feel very ecological responsible now. Maybe this cancels out the soda can I just threw away.
Tomorrow I’ll show you a Valentine from my friend Patti. And maybe, since I missed yesterday, I’ll go crazy and post two cards. I got another Valentine from my friend Stephanie in Florida. Both cards are gorgeous – and totally different.
Lame excuse for not posting yesterday…I ordered some e-books for my tablet. I’ve never had trouble downloading books before, but three of them were from a new – to me – web site. Holy cow! First, it was a pain to pay, and then I had to download software so I could download the books. It didn’t like the reader I had, so I had to download a Kindle app. Then it tells me I don’t have the system requirements for the software to download the book (even though on the tech support page, it swears my tablet should work great). Around 12:30 a.m., I finally gave up and just downloaded it to my laptop. And then I had a lot of fun giving them my feedback that they said was oh, so important to them. (HA! Bet they change that!) I let them know it was one of the most miserable experiences in my life – and I gave birth without drugs. Twice. So you know how bad it was. (Ok, my kids were great. They were quite anxious to see the world, so labor was really not difficult or long. I didn’t have drugs, because I didn’t have time. And I’m more afraid of needles than childbirth.)
Thanks for stopping by!! Have a wonderful day.
