Wow – yesterday was such a gorgeous day! The temperature was in the 60s, and it was just lovely. Today – snow (it didn’t last, but it was there) and cold again. My Jon had a horrendous headache last night, so he heated up the rice bags and let them work their magic. He felt much better after. They at least calmed the ache down enough so he could sleep. We’re all blessing my mother today.
I’m really done with winter. I know it just started less than a month ago, but, seriously, I think that’s long enough! So here’s another spring card for you. It was inspired by Sandi MacIver, but I changed the design, colors, stamps and dies, so it’s really not at all like her original.
Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes, Bordering on Romance, Take It to Heart; Ink: Jet Black StazOn; Soft Suede, Early Espresso, Blushing Bride, Perfect Plum classic; watercolor pencils; Paper: Sahara Sand, Blushing Bride, Garden Green, Perfect Plum card stock; Twitterpated designer series paper; Other: Big Shot, Framed Tulips and Square Lattice embossing folders, Labels framelits, Fun Flowers die, glimmer brads – In Color, basic jewels – pearls, crochet trim – Victoria, 2-step bird punch, sponge, aqua painter, stampin’ dimensionals
I used the new framelits to create the, um, frames. I embossed the card front with the Framed Tulips, and the stamped piece with the Square Lattice folder after I stamped and colored the flowers, of course. For the flowers, I colored them with a white watercolor pencil, then mixed a yellow and pink to create a good Blushing Bride color.
Something like this will be the valentine/Mother’s Day/anniversary or birthday card we do at the card class next month. Tomorrow I’ll show you the “whimsical” one that’s suitable for a child. Actually, it would work for any age, though. (Yes, it has gnomes on it.)
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day .
