Sending Kisses!

I’m working on some ideas for the open house on Saturday.  Dawn Olchefske had a really cute card on a forum, and I kind of copied it.  Of course, hers used more stamps instead of smooch spray, and the heart was punched from designer paper.  And it wasn’t backed with waffle paper and I used more card stock than just white.  But other than that…..

I also saw a really cute card that a friend of mine will be swapping at the San Antonio regional next weekend.  It’s awesome, so I may CASE that one.  Sadly, yesterday morning “life junk” happened, so I’ll be staying in town next week.  *sigh*  It’s nothing bad, just stuff that has to be taken care of that makes it impossible to leave for a week.  But that’s ok.  I found two wonderful demonstrators to take my tickets, and they’ll have a wonderful time!  And I can put that money into my “Convention Fund” so I can head to Salt Lake City in July.   I was feeling bad because I’d miss some rehearsals, and I also found out one of the singers I accompany is in a competition the end of the month, so now I’ll have time to practice with her a time or two.  So it’s all good.

The reason I made this card today is because while I was waiting for Steph at school, one of the moms who was waiting was seriously bad-mouthing her husband.  He may be a doofus, but you don’t tell everyone!  I know sometimes I joke about Mike and some of the things he does, but I think it’s pretty obvious that I’m joking around.  At least, I hope so!  He’s an amazing man and I’m seriously in love with him.  Plus I respect him a lot.  But – the conversation I couldn’t help but overhear today made me determined to be more vocal about how awesome he is.  And any man who can put up with me for almost 30 years has to be a keeper, right?  He’s put up with me longer than anyone – and he still loves me!  So here’s the card I made for him.

Stamps:  Take It to Heart, Petite Pairs; Ink:  Whisper White craft; Rose Red, Regal Rose classic; Paper:  Whisper White, Rose Red card stock; white waffle paper; Other:  Big Shot, Framed Tulips embossing folder, white embossing powder, Regal Rose taffeta ribbon, Blushing Bride smooch spritz, Framelits – Hearts, small heart punch, basic jewels – rhinestones

I couldn’t wait to use Petite Pairs.  It’s the set I chose for winning the So Shelli Challenge in October, and it came today.  I love free stamps!!  I made a thank you card when I found out I won, but now I’ve lost it.  So…back to the drawing board stamping table.

This card is so simple.  I embossed the tulips on the top Whisper White layer, then spritzed it with Blushing Bride smooch spritz.  While it was drying, I stamped and embossed the flowered heart, then cut it and the waffle heart with the framelits.  I punched the small heart and sponged it with Regal Rose (I sponged the waffle paper with Regal Rose, too), then added a rhinestone and some ribbon.  After I put it all together, I stamped the sentiment in Rose Red.  Done!

I still haven’t quite nailed down what I’m doing Saturday, but that’s for tomorrow.  Thanks for stopping by – and have a wonderful day!

Proverbs says a foolish woman tears down her house with her own hands. Thanks for the reminder – our husbands need to hear our support! And your card is a perfect way to express yourself, too. 🙂 TFS!
