I wanted to try a new technique last night, and, while I like the way it turned out, it isn’t exactly what I planned. The idea is to stamp an image and color it with markers. Then you spritz with water so the ink runs. When it’s dry, you can bleach out the colored areas so you’re left with the “bleed over.” My markers just didn’t bleed like I had hoped; I’m going to try it again with different paper. But in the meantime, this is what I got.
Stamps: Bordering on Romance*, Elementary Elegance+; Ink: Jet Black StazOn; Rose Red, Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette classic; Regal Rose, Rose Red, Lucky Limeade stampin’ write markers; Daffodil Delight classic ink refill; watercolor pencils; Paper: Twitterpated designer series paper*; Whisper White, Regal Rose, Rose Red card stock; Other: Big Shot, Adorning Accents edgelits; Boho Blossoms punch, Curly Label punch, Dazzling Details#, Basic Jewels – Pearls, Square Lattice embossing folder, sponge, Aqua Painter (*available Jan. 4-April 30 in the Occasions mini catalog; +available Jan. 24 – March 31 as a free Sale-a-bration item; #available until Jan. 3 in the Holiday mini catalog)
After the water dried on this, I cut the edge with the new edgelits, sponged it with Pink Pirouette ink and layered it to another scalloped edge piece of Regal Rose card stock, some Twitterpated designer series paper and some punched flowers. Then I ran all that through the Big Shot with the square lattice embossing folder. I added the stamped sentiment, some Daffodil Delight dazzling details and a few pearls. It still needed a little something, so I used a watercolor pencil and aqua painter to “splatter” some pink over the top half of the card.
Even though this didn’t turn out as planned, I really like it. It’s very soft and pretty, I think. The rest of tonight was spent with gnomes! I finished two projects for the hop, and have a great idea for one more. I can’t wait to show you. Tune in January 5 at 9 p.m. Eastern to see them!
Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by.
