I’m getting ready to run out and do some very last minute shopping for Christmas. Ok – who am I kidding? I’m doing the first of my Christmas shopping. Mike got his gift a month ago and we bought the boys their gifts. A few others were ordered, but as far as joining the crazy mass of shoppers…I haven’t. So I’m going to brave the last minute crazies. But I wanted to show you one last card for Christmas. This one’s from our Rottweiler Hoss.
Hoss was a rescue dog and came with the very fitting name. He’s about the size of a small pony. His head is above the table (fortunately he’s fairly well behaved and doesn’t drool on our food), and he weighs about 175-180 pounds. He’s currently on a diet because two of the humans living in this house (Mike & Jon) give him snacks and treats all the time. Plus he’s good at looking like he’s starving, so he often gets two lunches or dinners. Anyway – here’s his Christmas wish for you.
Stamps: Christmas Lodge+; Ink: Old Olive, Basic Black classic; Real Red, Basic Black, Old Olive stampin’ write markers; Paper: Basic Gray, Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip card stock; Other: Framelits – Labels*, basic jewels – rhinestones, Stocking builder punch+, bird builder punch, 1/4″ circle punch (retired), sponge, Big Shot (*available in the Occasions mini catalog beginning Jan. 4, 2012; +available in the Holiday mini catalog – only through Jan. 3, 2012; all other products available in the 2011-12 Stampin’ Up!® Idea Book & Catalog)
The idea to use the stocking builder punch for the dog came from talented demonstrator Susan Carlson. I used the stocking for the head/neck, the heel (cut) for the nose, and the cuff (cut in half) for the collar. The ears are the wings from the bird builder punch, and the eye is a 1/4″ circle, cut to make a semi-circle. I forgot the punch is retired, but you can use circles from the owl or cupcake builder punches, or part of a petal from the flower in the itty bitty shapes punch pack. I sponged Basic Black on the Basic Gray card stock, and drew the mouth with a marker (and now you know why I use rubber stamps!!).
This card may say Happy Holidays, but Hoss is thinking, “Did someone say cookies???” Don’t forget that the stocking builder punch will be gone forever after Jan. 3, 2012, so don’t miss out! It’s great for stick horses, baby booties, little socks, dogs, reindeer, probably cows…and even Christmas stockings. Call or e-mail me to place your order, or order online 24/7.
Have a wonderful holiday, and thanks for stopping by!
