I learned something very important yesterday. I can’t drink a tall latte at 4 p.m. My schedule got changed a little yesterday afternoon, so I had an hour and a half to run errands. I dropped off some Stampin’ Up!® products to a friend and then went to the bank and grocery store. Realizing I had an extra 40 minutes, and because it was chilly, rainy and my throat hurt a little, I thought coffee would be great. And, believe me, it was. But I was regretting it at 2 a.m. I’ve heard that the effects are supposed to be gone in a couple hours, but maybe Starbucks has a super duper caffeinated blend.
Here’s a card I made for my father-in-law’s birthday, since I accidentally turned his card into a Christmas card. My friend April made a very similar card for the same sketch challenge my card yesterday was for, and I absolutely loved it. This is a close copy of April’s! She used the same stamp set and used fabric for ribbon. And she used the postage punch, which I thought was really cute. So, thanks, April, for the inspiration!!
I inked the larger leaves with More Mustard, then sponged Early Espresso on the stamp. For the smaller leaf, I inked it in Pool Party, then sponged More Mustard and Early Espresso on the stamp. Then I heat embossed the outline image in pewter.
I have to say our fabric tears beautifully! I just snipped a little bit, then tore, and it ripped up really nicely.
I’m off to watch a movie with the man. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! We did all our shopping on the way here (we’re in the mountains), so we’re set. The boys are coming down sometime tomorrow for “the big meal,” and then they’re going back home so they’ll be ready to take advantage of “Black Friday” sales.
Thanks for stopping by!
