I took another shot at those medallions yesterday, and this one was very simple. First I scored a 2″ x 11″ strip of card stock every 1/4″. Then I punched it with the lace ribbon border punch and accordion folded it to form the snowflake. This time, I used mini glue dots to close it together, and that was so easy! The little flower in the center is snipped from a leftover piece of the punched strip, and I added a 2-3/8″ scallop punched from the silver glimmer paper behind the snowflake. A rhinestone in the center completed it. In real life, it’s really sparkly and pretty!
I thought about putting some pretty ribbon through this and using it as a tree ornament, but I decided to put it on this card instead.
Stamp sets: Christmas Greetings, Pines & Poinsettias*; Ink: Cherry Cobbler classic; Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write markers; Paper: Whisper White card stock, silver glimmer paper*; Other: Simply Scored scoring board*, basic rhinestone jewels, lacy ribbon border punch, Dazzling Details*, stampin’ dimensionals, mini glue dots, multipurpose liquid glue, Simply Sent Every Day Elegance (*available in the holiday mini catalog; all other items available in the 2011-12 Stampin’ Up!® Idea Book & Catalog)
I used my “homemade” Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details on the holly berries, and plain details on the leaves. The silver paper peeking through the snowflake adds just enough glitz, but not too much.
Tomorrow is our stamping team meeting. If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to be a demonstrator, come join us! Give me a shout and I’ll send you details.
Thanks for stopping in! Have a great day.
