Birthday Doilies and a Fun Quiz!

I found the most fun quiz.  Ok – it was probably fun, because I got a pretty decent score.  It’s a “hue test,” and you line up colors from lightest to darkest – or the other way around.  I have to admit, after awhile, the colors start to look the same.  My “issues” were right in the center between blues and greens.

If you want to give it a shot, here’s the link.   (Thanks, Martha!!)

Here’s a birthday card I made for a friend.  The stupid ink smeared (you can see it really well in the close up!), so it looks more like “bappy birthday.”  I’ll do that layer over, I guess, but later.  I’ve got some press releases to send out for Mike and then rehearsal tonight.  Or I may just pretend I have a cold and wish her a “bappy birthday!”

Stamps: Hello, Doily!, Four Frames, Teeny Tiny Wishes; Ink:  Versamark; Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz, Perfect Plum stampin’ write markers; Blushing Bride, Perfect Plum, Early Espresso, Sahara Sand classic; Perfect Plum craft; Paper:  Very Vanilla, Perfect Plum, Blushing Bride, vellum card stock; Other:  Big Shot, Square Lattice embossing folder, decorative label punch, heat tool, clear & pewter embossing powders, Very Vanilla seam binding ribbon, basic pearls, scallop trim border punch, stampin’ dimensionals  (All products are available in the 2011-12 Stampin’ Up!® Idea Book & Catalog)

This is very straightforward, so I won’t bore you with all the details.  The sentiment was stamped and embossed on vellum, the colored on the back (“Stained Glass” technique).  I backed it with Very Vanilla so the colors would really pop.  The doilies are stamped in versamark, then clear embossed.  I sponged ink over them to bring out the design.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week.
