I Feel Cooler Already!

I’m not trying to rush Christmas, and I’m not doing a “Christmas in July.”  But it was so hot, I thought maybe a snow card would cool me off a bit.

The mister took his camera with him, and the printer needs to be reinstalled, and blah, blah, blah.  Long stories, but the short version – I took this with my phone, so it’s not the best.  I didn’t want to wait until afternoon to post, though, because I was afraid I’d forget.  I am amazed at how short my attention span is lately.  I’ll get up to go get something, and just in the time it takes me to stand up, I’ve forgotten.  Granted, it does take longer to stand these days than it did 20 years ago, but not that much.

Enough blathering.  Here’s the card I made.  It was a sketch challenge on a stamping forum, and I wanted to use new In Colors, too.

Stamp set:  Snow Much Fun; Ink: Basic Black classic; Pool Party, Wild Wasabi, Basic Gray, Pumpkin Pie, Bashful Blue, Island Indigo stampin’ write markers; Whisper White craft Paper:  Confetti White, Island Indigo, Wild Wasabi, Pool Party card stock; Other:  Big Shot, Northern Flurry embossing folder, Northern Frost decorative cutting strip, 2-way glue pen, blender pen, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, scallop square punch, Top Note die, postage stamp punch, modern label punch, rhinestone brads, stampin’ dimensionals

Isn’t this a fun set?  It’s a new one from the 2011-12 Idea Book & Catalog.  I don’t have “Snow Much Fun” yet, but my Fairy Godmother (thanks, Martha!!!!) stamped several sheets of images and sentiments and sent them to me.  Our very clever mail carrier didn’t see the “Do Not Bend” messages all over the envelope, so she folded it to put it in the mailbox.  Martha had very wisely sandwiched the images between some cardboard, so the card stock was just bent, not creased.  The pages have been sitting under some heavy books for a couple weeks to flatten them back out.

The pool guys keep coming by for a few hours each day.  I think they’ve just been toying with us.  They’re actually in the hole installing the new liner now, so maybe by the middle of the week, we’ll be able to finally use the pool.  It’s been out of commission for a couple years due to harsh winters and no time to get it fixed, so it’s just been out there taunting us during this recent heat wave.  Hopefully soon…

Don’t forget the special starter kit this month.  You can join my awesome team of demonstrators for only $99 when you select the limited-time starter kit.  Or, you can choose the standard or Digital Plus starter kit for $175.  All kits are “customizable,” so you can substitute like products (stamps for stamps, card stock for card stock, etc.) of equal or lessor value.

Whichever kit you choose, you’ll also receive this adorable Christmas Keepsake project kit free with your first order in August.  This is a lovely way to save your Christmas memories.

As a demonstrator, you’ll enjoy a minimum 20% off all purchases, product pre-order and “sneak peek” privileges, a free magazine packed with project and business ideas, access to the Stampin’ Up! demonstrator web site and forum, 2 months free web site with a blog, and much, much more.  For more information, visit my web site.
