I have an aunt who sends a crocheted doily every year with her Christmas card. It’s always such a sweet addition. My grandmother and my mom’s sister also crocheted lots of things – including doilies – so when I saw the doily punch in the summer mini, I had to have it. And I’ve used a new stamp set from the upcoming catalog along with it.
Stamp sets: Delicate Doilies, Fabulous Phrases; Ink: Versamark; Pink Pirouette, Concord Crush classic; Paper: Pink Pirouette, Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White, Vellum card stock; Cheerful Treat designer series paper; Other: Triple layer punch – doily, Boho Blossoms punch, small oval punch, white embossing powder, embossing buddy, heat tool, basic pearls, stampin’ dimensionals, eyelet border punch, Whisper White organza ribbon, mini glue dots, Big Shot, Square Lattice embossing folder
Isn’t this so sweet? I love lavenders, pinks and white together. I think the white embossed vellum actually looks like doilies, too. This would make a nice wedding or anniversary card. And the stamp set coordinates with the doily punch and two circle punches, although I cut my larger doilies out instead of punching.
Remember when you’re using the triple layer punches that you need to punch first, then stamp, because they’re really not made to punch upside down. You can use your stamp-a-ma-jig for perfect placement, or just place the punched piece over the inked stamp (which is what I did). I’ve also learned that when I’m punching the first layer (solid image), I need to have a hand on the front of the punch as well as the back for it to punch all the way through. You kind of hear a little extra “clunk” from the front when you’ve got it punched.
If you’re interested in the punches, I’d love to demonstrate them for you. Contact me today to schedule a workshop and learn about our fabulous hostess benefits! Just click the “contact me” tab on my web site and leave me a message.
Thanks for stopping by! Just a few more days and I can give out new catalogs! I can’t wait to be able to share all the new products with you.
