Summer Coasters

I’m having the best time looking at the new catalog!!  I can’t share yet (but I will be working on projects for the next few days, so you’ll be able to see a few things), but you’re going to LOVE what’s in there.  And the new In Colors – Yippee!!

The only bad thing is I’m supposed to be working, so I have to look like I’m doing something really constructive every time Mike walks past.  Wonder if I held the phone between my shoulder and neck and talked to myself if he would think I was making calls??  (But really, I’ve been a demo for 8 1/2 years.  I think he understands “New Catalog Day.”

Here are some cute little coasters I made the other day with Mom.  The idea was in our Stampin’ Success magazine.  This is one of the perks we get as demonstrators!  Anyway – when I explained to Mom what I was doing, she looked a tad skeptical.  You just layer our cork sheets, designer series paper, and window sheets with adhesive sheets.  (I added a layer of the cardboard that comes with designer paper between the cork and paper.)  Then run it through the big shot.  There you go – a cute little coaster!!

Stamp set:  Love and Care; Ink:  Old Olive, Poppy Parade classic; Paper:  Paisley Petals designer series paper; Other:  Cork sheets, window sheets, Big Shot, Scallop Circle #2 die, Beautiful Wings embosslit, Big Shot adhesive sheets

On some of them, I embossed the paper with an embossing folder, but you can’t see it, so it was kind of an unnecessary step.  Others I stamped or added little butterflies.  You could add a monogram, or a stamped image, or an inspiration saying…the possibilities are endless.

Here’s the high praise from my mother:  “Well, those are really cute.  I was thinking they were going to be tacky, but they’re not.”  Oh, Mom, stop.  My head will swell.

Off to work!!  Have a great day.
