And I did it with pearls and heels. Ok, flip flops and no pearls. But still…did you ever see June Cleaver fix a car? Granted it was a minor repair (turn signal indicator lamp) but it involved tools. And I got my hands dirty. I thought it was impressive.
It's very fitting to have a pink girlie card today, don't you think??
Stamps: Love & care (summer mini hostess set); Ink: So Saffron, Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo classic; Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink Stampin' Write Markers; Paper: Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, Very Vanilla; Other: Certainly Celery wide grosgrain, Big Shot Circles #2 die, 2-3/8" scallop circle punch, wide oval punch, curley label punch, corner rounder punch, eyelet border punch; 2-way glue pen, glitter stack (Galaxy), stampin' dimensionals, sponge, Big Shot, impressions pad, silicone rubber, doily triple punch
I used the doily texture plate I made last night for the background, and sponged it with So Saffron and Pretty in Pink ink. It makes such a soft, pretty backdrop for the card, I think.
I'm thinking about doing one with little flowers or hearts. Or maybe birds. There are so many possiblities! Wouldn't one with bats be fun in the fall? Years ago, one of the boys in the church (Kathy, if you're reading this, it was either Ben or Ethan. Sounds like Ben, but I'm thinking it was Ethan) had a cup from a fast food restaurant in his hand, and said, "Miss Buffy, listen!" And he held it up to my ear. I heard this awful screeching and scratching. "What is that?" And, as my mother would say, "Dear God." It was a baby bat. Close to my ear. Near my hair. I think I screamed. At least the lid was on the cup until he took it off to show me the "treasure." I was a tomboy when it came to scraping knees, climbing trees and riding bikes. But when it came to stuff like bugs, worms, bats and rodents – total girl here, and probably always will be.
On that note….thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful and bat-free day!
