First thing today, I want to thank Mary Fife, my friend in Massachusetts, for the most awesome chicken recipe. She sent me a link to a great recipe site – http://www.recipelion.com/ . We were going to grill chicken, but it looked like it might rain, so dear Mary sent the link, and I found a super easy recipe for oven friend chicken. Of course, although I bookmarked the recipe, I deleted it and bookmarked the whole site, and now I can't find the recipe. But I wrote it down. For about 3 pounds of chicken, you melt 1/3 cup butter in the pan you're going to cook the chicken in. Then coat the chicken pieces in butter, then the flour mixture (1/3 c. flour, 3/4 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp pepper, 1/4 tsp thyme, 1/2 tsp rosemary and 1/4 tsp paprika). Place the chicken skin side down in the pan and cook for about 30 minutes. Turn the chicken over and cook for another 30-35 minutes. Done – and it's delicious!
We had a wonderful time with Mike's and my parents and Wesley. Jon is out of town, but I'll get to hug him tonight.
Here's the card I made for Mike's mom.
Stamps: Messages for Mom; Ink: Marina Mist, Basic Gray, Night of Navy; Paper: Marina Mist, Whisper White, Vellum card stock; Other: Big Shot, flower garden embossing folder, Whisper White organza ribbon, basic rhinestone jewels, stampin' dimensionals
I used the flower garden embossing folder with vellum card stock. I stamped "Messages for Mom" flowers in Marina Mist on the card (under the vellum) and on the tag (stamping off one time first except for the one time that I forgot).
Hope your Mother's Day was as wonderful as mine! Thanks for stopping in.
