Happy Birthday, Dad!

Yesterday was my dad's birthday, and the whole Oratorio Society I sing with serenaded him on his special day.  To be honest, it was our regularly scheduled concert and he was in the audience, but, still….I like to think we were singing to him.

My Jon called me yesterday to tell me he had called and talked to his grandfather for awhile.  He said, "Mom, I hope you and Dad don't get upset, but Granddaddy is probably my favorite person in the world."  Well – that is high praise, indeed.  And I can't get upset, because my father is one of my very favorite people in the world, too.  He's an incredible man.  As long as I've known him (and that's quite a long time!), his integrity has never wavered or been questioned.  He is the epitome of the word "gentleman."  I could go on and on (and I have in previous posts), but I won't.  Suffice it to say, I absolutely adore my parents and am very, very blessed!

This weekend has been crazy, but I did manage to get a card made for Dad's birthday.   Janet brought a postcard she had received in the mail, and it used the most amazing color combination.  The colors were River Rock, Soft Suede, Bravo Burgundy and Not Quite Navy.  I'm not kidding – those colors were an exact match.  And they're perfect for "man cards."  What do you think?

I love these colors together, so I'm going to have to make a whole set of cards using the combination.  It's very peaceful.

Here are the supplies.  Thanks for dropping in!

Love the colors and love the card. I’m sure your dad loved it. And it’s wonderful to hear it when someone thinks — and knows — they have the best parents. You are blessed.
