Remember I told you I participated in a swap with some "Forum Friends?" Here's one I got from Joanne Do in Hawaii, and I loved it as soon as I opened the envelope. (I've loved all of them, of course!)
The clean lines, colors and polka dots really drew me into this card. I decided it would be perfect for a make & take, so we're using it at Mom's workshop on Saturday. I changed a few things. Joanne used a white gel pen for the polka dots, but mine is acting wonky, so I used Moonlight Smooch paint. And I used Marina Mist grosgrain ribbon instead of taffeta.
This is like one of those "spot the differences" papers kids do in elementary school! Joanne used pearl jewels on her card, but – horrors! – I realized I was almost out of pearls (guess what's on my next order?), so I used rhinestones. And since I know my friend Ruth will be at the workshop Saturday, I had to add a butterfly. I only changed little things; the main layout, colors and stamps are the same as Joanne used.
Here are the supplies.
Stamp sets: Charming, Just Believe
Ink: Marina Mist, Wild Wasabi, Not Quite Navy, More Mustard stampin' write markers
Paper: Marina Mist, Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Wild Wasabi card stock
Other: Moonlight Smooch paint, Top Coat Smooch paint, Big Shot, Texture plate, silicone rubber, impressions pad, rhinestone jewels, Marina Mist grosgrain, stampin' dimensionals
Here are some of the photos from the spring fling. We had such a great time, and I think everyone enjoyed themselves. We got a few pictures at the beginning, and then we got busy and didn't take any more – so we missed photos of some of the participants. (Sorry, ladies. Next time we'll take your pics first!)
Here are Judy (working on a notebook), Heather (working on a Sew Suite card) and Janet (working on the Just Believe card).
Keep an eye out for our next event! I'm having a Breast Cancer Research Foundation fundraiser in May, and we'll have an open house with new catalog products in June or July. And don't forget the MDS class in April. I'll have more details (like the date and time!) after April 4.
Thanks for stopping in!
