Baby Blossoms

Mom came by the other day to drop off some stuff, and she had an Elegant Eggplant sweater with a Rose Red scarf.  The combination looked gorgeous on her, and I commented on how lovely she looked.  Well…The scarf, it turns out, was a gift from my brother and his family.  She loved it, because it was wide and big enough to use as a shawl, and, like me, Mom is often a little chilly.

As she was trying on her "shawl," Mike (my brother; yes, my brother and my husband have the same name….as do most of my cousins.  Just about every male around is either a Michael or a James.  Or both.) – anyway, Mike said, "Uh, Mom, I think that's a table runner."  Well, it works quite well as a scarf!  At our rehearsal last Monday, one of the other sopranos had on a scarf just like Mom's table runner, and she showed Mom how everyone is tying them now, and, of course, Mom showed me on Saturday.

Fast forward to Saturday night.  My Jon promoted a show Saturday with six bands, and it was awesome.  There were about 175-200 people there!  It was a fundraiser for a local clothing mission, and if you brought a coat, hoodie or other article of winter clothing, you could get in free.  They collected about 7 boxes of clothes!  He has lots more planned, and he's so excited.  Mike & I went for about half of it, and I was very impressed by how organized it was.  A lot of times it takes forever to get the bands on and off stage, but the transitions Saturday were so smooth.

After we left, Mike & I went for dinner and about 4 people within 2 tables of us had their scarves tied just like Mom's.  (See – full circle!)  I'll have to tell her how hip she is!

I just got the set "Baby Blossoms," and spent this morning working with it.  It's going to be a lot of fun, and it's another one that I hope makes it to the "main catalog" in July.

I used Mom's colors and added a little Baja Breeze.  I stamped the frame, then used the backing from the stamp as a mask to sponge inside with Baja Breeze and stamp the smaller flowers.  These blossoms are so delicate and pretty, and go very well with the Springtime Vintage designer paper.

Here are the supplies, then I'm off to practice.  Thanks for stopping in!

  1. Mom says:

I love these blossoms and when I put on that scarf, I told your Dad that you would tell me the SU names for the colors and would probably stamp something with them!!!!!!!! You are sooooooo creative!!! I am excited about MDS upgrades and looking through my new things in my order. Unfortunately, excitement and motivation are not the same………
