When I was little, Mom had a button box. I think it was a fruit cake tin…one of those round, metal boxes with a tight lid. It was full of buttons, and for some reason, I loved to play in it. It was fun to find some that matched, or just stir them around with my fingers. I know…weird, huh? But we always had a button whenever we needed it.
I recently started my own button box. It's not as full as Mom's, but I'm working on it. Right now, it's just the extra buttons that come with clothes you buy, plus the odd one here and there that just showed up. It just makes me feel connected with Mom, somehow.
In January, the Occasions mini catalog items will be available, and because I booked some workshops during the recent "Book-a-thon" Stampin' Up! had, and because we reached the goal, I got a free set from the mini called "Button, Button."
These buttons remind me of some of the ones in Mom's box! I used the color coach for this combo. I wanted to use either Pear Pizzazz or Peach Parfait – and I loved the idea of Tempting Turquoise and Rich Razzleberry with Pear Pizzazz. I never would have put those together.
There are so many button stamps in this set, so it was hard to choose two. And I love the fact that you can "faux sew" the buttons to the card. I just used the paper piercing tool to punch out the button holes, then markers to add "thread."
Here's the complete list. And don't forget that Wednesday is the very last day for the Online Spectacular and the Recruiting Promo (1/2 off the starter kits!).
