Workshop Wednesday

I love getting together with stampers and just creating!  It's so much fun, and I'm always inspired.  Yesterday, Janet had this amazing top on, so I took pictures of it to "re-create" later.  Something happened when I printed it out.  Hotmail is weird since they upgraded it, and I couldn't figure out how to just save the picture, so I had to print the screen, send it to a photo editor, crop it, blah, blah, blah…When it printed, it skewed the photo a bit, so this isn't exactly like Janet's top.  I compared the photo she e-mailed me to the card when it was finished, and it's close, but I forgot the greens and oranges.  Here's what I came up with.

Janet's_shirt It's a very simple layout, because I didn't want to cover any of the background.  I stamped a lot of flowers from "Fast & Fabulous" and "Messages for Mom," then colored them with a blender pen and chalk – because I got my Stampin' Pastels new color kit the other day!  Then I embossed over them with a versamarker and clear powder, and sponged some color over and around the flowers.

Finally, I added the sentiment (Whisper White craft ink with white embossing powder)  some highlights with the white gel pen and the swirls from Baroque Motifs with Whisper White craft.  Ran it through the Big Shot with the new Elegant Lines embossing folder, added some ribbon and rhinestone jewels, and – DONE!  There are a couple flowers from Baroque Motifs that I added, but I didn't like the way they turned out, so I sponged over them.  They're barely noticeable and just add some depth without being obvious.

I was packing up and getting ready to go home and work from there after the workshop yesterday, and DH called while I was checking e-mail for the last time.  He was on his way to the office, so I just stayed and worked there with him.  I think we finally got home around 7 p.m., and I talked him into driving (and leaving my car at the office) – so I forgot to stop and pick up some meds for allergies.  Oops.  Guess I'll be heading out this morning.  This has been the weirdest summer; so many people who have never suffered from allergies are sneezing, blowing their noses and rubbing their eyes.  Makes me wonder what has been brought into our valley – and I'll be glad when it's gone.

Here are today's supplies:
Stamp sets:  Messages for Mom, Baroque Motifs, Fast & Fabulous, Herb Expressions
Ink:  Jet Black StazOn; Elegant Eggplant, Night of Navy, Marina Mist classic; Stampin' Pastels, Whisper     White craft

Other:  Rich Razzleberry grosgrain, blender pen, clear embossing powder, white embossing powder, white gel pen, rhinestone jewels, Big Shot, Elegant Lines embossing folder, heat tool

Have a great Thursday!

  1. Mom says:

This is our anniversary card from Buffy, Mike and the boys, and it is the prettiest card Buffy has ever made (in my opinion) replacing only the last ‘prettiest’ card she gave us! You rock, Buff!!!!!
