…just turned the big 5-0?  (You know who you are!!!)  That's what this little guy is saying.

I had wanted to do a card with either the raven or owl in the moon, and since I had already used the raven, I decided on the owl.  But before I had a chance to create it, Michelle Zindorf (the "brayer queen!") beat me to it.  Ah, well.  It really was an original idea, but great minds and all that…My colors are a lot different, and she used a brayer where I used sponges.  You've heard of a green thumb?  I now have a blue finger.

Here are the supplies:
Stamp sets:  Messages for Mom ("who"), Dark & Dreary, Elements of Style
Ink:  Versamark; Basic Black stampin' write marker; classic – So Saffron, Perfect Plum, Elegant Eggplant, Not Quite Navy, Night of Navy, Basic Gray
Paper:  Whisper White, Basic Black, Perfect Plum, Elegant Eggplant card stock
Other:  Black embossing powder, brads – subtles, mat pack, paper piercing tool, glimmer brads (brights), lace trim – Raven, heat tool, stampin' dimensionals, stampin' sponges, mini glue dots, 3/4" x 15/16" oval punch, curly label punch

I was on the fence about the black lace, but it's so gorgeous.  I'm really glad I got it!  If you don't want it for "dark & dreary" cards, it would look lovely on an elegant card, also.  Rachel suggested I distress it a little and see how that looks.  Great idea!  I'll have to try that later.  I know with the grosgrain, you can pick one thread and pull and it frays the whole piece.  It's really fun – and great to use for hair.

Remember you can shop for any of the products used on this card, view the current catalogs, download digital images for your digital crafting system and more 24/7 on my web site.  And there are projects there that aren't on my blog, so check it out when you have a few minutes.  The clearance rack is great!

Ooh, ooh, ooh! How I LOVE this card, Buffy. It is gorgeous and you did the Zindorf technique proud. I have a fondness for owls and I love the colors: mysterious yet elegant. Bon! Magnifique!

Now that I have this stamp set on the way I can’t wait to case this Buffy. I love your original idea..and so much less scary using sponges than a brayer! I don’t know why but my brayer scares me to death 365 days a year…not just on Halloween!

Thanks!! Michelle Zindorf makes the braying (brayering? Braying just sounds so donkey-ish) look so easy. I’m not very good at it at all!!
