I have a "hybrid" card to show you, but it's a sympathy card for the neighbors, and I haven't mailed it yet (yikes!). Since this goes to my facebook page, I thought it was probably tacky for them to see it there before I send it. Not that they don't have better things to do than to check my FB page, I'm sure!!
This is a card I made last night. All the guys worked until late, late, late, so I had the house all to myself. Of course, I miss my men, but it's really nice to be able to do whatever you want whenever you want and not be in anyone's way or have to wait your turn (like for the kitchen or washing machine). So, I worked on my MDS certification and then stamped this.
I couldn't get the light to pick up the shimmer. I spritzed all three large layers with Vanilla Shimmer smooch spritz. When it first goes on, you think, "Hmmm. That didn't do anything." But when it dries, it's lovely.
The patterned paper is one of the "Presto Patterns" designer series paper from the summer mini. I sponged Regal Rose, Always Artichoke and Soft Suede on it to bring out the patterns. After I finished all the layers, I felt the sentiment got a little lost, so I decided on Very Vanilla hodgepodge hardware. But it was so vanilla and didn't fit with the vintage look. I inked it with Always Artichoke, then embossed with clear powder to get a kind of Verdigris, old metal look.
Here are the supplies:
Stamp set: Elements of Style
Ink: Basic Brown, Soft Suede, Always Artichoke, Regal Rose classic; Stampin' Write Markers – Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Always Artichoke; Always Artichoke craft

We're off to the funeral. (I know this is old, but tell me again, why does that word begin with "fun?") More tomorrow!
