Teacher Appreciation Week

One of our local schools is having a "teacher appreciation week" next week, and Janet asked if I could do a stamping demo for them on Tuesday.  This will be so fun!  And Janet is so sweet, she donated most of the supplies.

Two of the cards we're doing use a whole sheet of card stock.  Yikes!  8 1/2" x 5 1/2" is a big card!  I'm not sure I've ever made a card that large, but that's the size envelopes we have, so that's what we're doing.  It was kind of fun to "stretch!"  As they say on Project Runway, "Make it work!"

Here are the cards.  The two that look "girlie" show how the Texturz plates look on both sides of the designer paper, so they can choose which look they want.  The idea is to use them for Mother's and Father's Day, but in case some of them would rather use them for a birthday or "thinking of you," they should work ok for generic occasions as well.

If you saw the blog when it first went live, you'll see this is a different card.  I had some retired designer paper that looked so much better, so I swapped it out.

Supplies:
Stamp set:  One of a Kind
Ink:  Close to Cocoa,Chocolate Chip classic;
Paper:  Vanilla card stock; Kraft card stock; Bold Brights textured card stock; retired designer paper
Accessories:  Very Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware; wide oval punch, curly label punch, Top Note die, Big Shot, cutter kit

Here are the "girl cards."

They're very much alike, so I'm only posting one.  But here are the supplies.

Stamp set:  Favorite Thoughts
Ink:  Regal Rose, Certainly Celery classic
Paper:  Shades of Spring designer paper; Vanilla card stock
Accessories:  Certainly Celery ribbon, Big Shot, Beautiful Wings embosslit, Stampin' Sponges, Texturz plate, silicone rubber, impressions pad, stampin' dimensionals

And then there's this one –

Tulip_note (scroll down…..down…..down……)

It's another "bird wing tulip" card.  The scanner didn't pick up the loveliness of the little butterfly!
Here are supplies:

Stamp set:  Sincere Salutations
Ink:  Basic Black, Orchid Opulence, Pixie Pink, Lovely Lilac classic
Paper:  Lovely Lilac, Orchid Opulence, Green Galore, Gable Green, Pixie Pink card stock; Shades of Spring designer paper; white note card
Accessories:  2-way glue pen, dazzling diamonds glitter, large 2-step bird punch, scallop trim border punch, Beautiful Wings embosslit, Big Shot

That's all for today.  Tonight is the final "Requiem" performance.  Last night went really well.  The instrumentalists and soloists were wonderful, and the choir did a great job.  Our conductor, of course, was amazing at keeping us all together.  He has this "look" he gives us that means, "pay attention and focus or you'll hear about it later!" — and we only saw it a couple times.  (That's a good thing!)
