I did it!

I finally cut into my new card stock.  Well, I cut one little piece of Marina Mist.  I was getting ready to make a card with Cherry Cobbler too, but my paper cutter had schmutz on it and messed up what I was working on.  So, being the intrepid, dedicated stamper that I am, I put it aside to come back to later.

Here's my Marina Mist sample.  Before you get too excited, understand that I'm a hoarder, so it's a very small piece.

Marina_mist_blooms It's the layer between the Whisper White and Night of Navy and the two blue butterflies.  It's the perfect mix of Ballet and Brocade Blue.  I think maybe the image would have looked better on Vanilla or Crumb Cake (Kraft), but, oh, well.  I like the way the image looks on Whisper White.  (I'm starting a movement to have Whisper White changed to Whipped Cream White, by the way.  I think it will go better with Cherry Cobbler and Pumpkin Pie.  What do you think??  I don't think SU! is going to go for it, though.)

Here are the supplies used:
Stamp set:  Bloomin' Beautiful
Ink:  Basic Brown classic; VersaMark; Stampin' Write Markers – Bashful Blue, Brocade Blue, Old Olive, More Mustard, Going Gray, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron
Paper:  Whisper White, Night of Navy, Marina Mist, So Saffron, Old Olive, Crumb Cake (Kraft)
Accessories:  2-way glue pen, corner rounder punch, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Big Shot, Embossing Folders – Square Lattice (Summer Mini), Finial Press

You can't see the details really well, but I glittered the butterflies and the flower centers.  I reverse masked the flower pot and stamped the "bloom" definition in Basic Brown.  It's not real obvious in the photo, but gives it a little extra dimension.

That's it for today.  I'm hoping to get back to the Cherry Cobbler card, but today's kind of crazy!  Have a great weekend!

Sharon – I love that stamp set! I’ll bet the flowers would look lovely in Rich Razzleberry!
Mom – Yiddish!! But isn’t it descriptive? Can be just about anything from chocolate to dirt to ink smears.
