Important Soda Can Info!

Soda can Just a quick post before I head off to a workshop.

I love punching soda cans or using them in the Big Shot.  Punching the cans actually sharpens the punches*, and the cans are easy to "open up."  Here's what I do:

  • Don't crush them first!!  Rinse out well.
  • Take a sharp knife and cut all (or most) of the top off the can.
  • Use scissors to remove the rest of the top.  Then cut down the side and use the scissors to cut off the bottom.

The punched edges are not sharp; the cut edges are, however, so be careful!

When you're punching, you may want to use safety glasses, especially if you have little pieces (like the Heart to Heart punch).  You want to be safe!

Finally – I punched one Extra Large Fancy Flower and the punch is now a little wonky.  So *DO NOT use the new style punches on cans until they've been tested further.  I'll keep you posted about that one!

Have a happy Sunday!
