Sprite-ly Shamrocks

I'm having much too much fun with old soda cans.  When the boys were little, Mike would see all kinds of strange things around the house, (pans of dirt, moldy items in the fridge, stuff like that), and ask, "Is this something that should be thrown away or is it a homeschool project?"  It was usually a homeschool project – except for the moldy fridge stuff.  Anyway – now everyone is slow to pitch trash because, "Mom might be able to use it for stamping."  It's a good excuse, anyway!  My dear sweet Wesley broke one of my baking stones last night, and I actually caught myself looking at it thinking, "How can I incorporate this into a project?"  I mean, it broke really well!  Apparently, it also threw flaming pizza across the kitchen.  Hmmmm…maybe I should get that video from a few days ago and make the guys watch it.

So as I was heading to the stamp room the other day, I saw Jonathan's collection of empty Sprite cans and realized they would make adorable shamrocks.  What do you think?

Shamrock This is a 3×3" love note.  I used all three Bold Brights greens (Glorious Green, Green Galore, Gable Green), an embossing folder, a "texturz" plate, three punches and some dimensionals and glue dots.  Easy!

Here's the complete list (All SU! except for the soda can):
Ink:  Glorious Green Stampin' Write marker
Paper:  Glorious Green, Green Galore, Gable Green card stock
Other:  Punches:  Heart to Heart, extra large fancy flower, scallop trim border; Finial Press embossing folder, polka dots texturz plate, silicone rubber, impressions pad, Big Shot, stampin' dimensionals, mini glue dots, soda can

This is the third project we'll be making at the workshop this weekend.  I'm debating whether to cut the cans before the workshop or let my stampers have the fun of cutting them.  I'm kind of leaning in that direction, so they'll know how to do it later.  I also have some very cool safety glasses they can wear while they punch!  Those little suckers do fly, and I don't want anyone to get hurt.

I'm off to spend the day with the man.  Wooohooo!  Have a wonderful weekend!

This is cute. Yup, you have really crawled “out of the box.” When you start trying to incorporate a pizza stone into card making, that I’ve gotta to see! Like all the soda cans though.
