Let the Wrapping Begin!

I think we've finally finished all our Christmas shopping!  I have a few more things I may get for stocking stuffers, but other than that, we're finished.  Wooohooo!  Now the fun part starts.

Here are a couple presents I worked on today.

Christmas_boxes Obviously, one is for my mom.  The box on the right is the design from the Fall Regional.  All I did was change the colors a bit.  For the other box, I really wanted to make a matchbox with one of our window sheets.  I think it came out very nicely.  I wasn't sure if I wanted to stamp on the window sheet or "Big Shot" it.  I used the Petals-a-plenty folder to give it some texture and opted not to stamp.  The little flower is just two circle punches (1", 1-1/4") that I "pinched" into shape, then added a couple leaves and a half-back pearl center.

I love the tag.  My handwriting is atrocious (I think because I'm left-handed), but in real life, the tag is very cute.  I heat embossed the "To/From" in white ink and powder, then added some Frost White shimmer paint snowflakes from the Serene Snowflake set.  Here's a closer look at the box.

Window_box Ha! Mom, even up close you can't see what's in it.  (Ok, obviously it's not handkerchiefs.  I know you're asking, "Why in the world does she bother asking what I want for Christmas when she's just going to go do whatever she wants anyway?"  Good question.  I get it from my mother.)  What I do is buy what I like; then if the recipient doesn't like it, I take it back. That's actually happened.  I bought someone a gift and received it a few years later.  I don't think she remembered it was from me, so….

Gift Giving Lesson #342:  Always keep the tags for things you're going to "re-gift" so you don't give it back to the original giver.  Bringing us, of course, to –

Gift Giving Lesson #343:  Always remove said tags BEFORE you wrap the re-gift!

I'm off to wrap more gifts.  I have four gift card holders to make, too…
