Watercooler Wednesday

It’s the new Watercooler Wednesday! We’ll be posting challenges every week on Wednesdays, and you’ll have until noon MT the next Monday to post your entry.

This is the first of our weekly challenges, and it’s a sketch from Kath.

Watercooler Wednesday, Stampin' Up!

Here’s my take on the sketch.

Joyful Season, Stampin' Up!

I used a new stamp from the Holiday catalog – Joyful Season. It’s a little unique, because you can watercolor the cardinal if you want. But it’s also a 2-step stamp set, so you can stamp the “inside” of the bird and it looks watercolored. Cool, right?

I embossed Cherry Cobbler card stock with the Brick Wall textured impressions embossing folder, then sponged some white craft ink over it. I had an old spot from a long ago kit that worked perfectly, but you can also use a sponge or sponge dauber with the larger pad.

For the horizontal layer, I used Everyday Chic Designer Washi Tape instead of card stock. It just seemed to fit the winter theme and the brick wall.

Now – it’s your turn! You can get lots of inspiration from the other designers here. Then create a project using the sketch and upload your project to the challenge blog.

A special note to everyone who lives in Virginia and other states where the cardinal is your state bird – you need this set! The holiday catalog sales period started yesterday, so be sure to order now! If you need a catalog, please let me know and I’ll get one to you.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!

  1. What a beautiful cardinal and so well coloured Buffy. I like your call out to all those in Virginia to get this stamp set. What a challenge! Great card buffy!
